Sikandar Sultan Raja controversy
Sikandar Sultan Raja has been the subject of controversy since his appointment as Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan in January 2020.
In July 2022, the PTI party decided to file a judicial reference against him for allegedly violating the Election Commission of Pakistan's code of conduct and failing to fulfill his duties. Raja has denied any wrongdoing and stated that the ECP has no favourites nor is it against anyone.
He also faced criticism for his stance on electronic voting machines (EVMs), which he said was "unwarranted" and not opposed by the ECP as widely propagated.
Sikandar Sultan Raja Got Stuck While Imran Khan is After Qamar Javed Bajwa
Sikandar Sultan Raja is the current Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan. In October 2022, a four-member bench headed by him announced a unanimous decision. Imran Khan has strained his relations with former COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa to the point that they are insulting each other.
Reports suggest that Khan tried to sack Bajwa before his ouster, and in February 2023, Khan called for an internal military inquiry against Bajwa.
