Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Opposed the Arrest Idea of Imran Khan

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, a Pakistani politician and former Prime Minister of Pakistan from August 2017 to May 2018, has opposed the idea of arresting Imran Khan. Abbasi himself was arrested by anti-graft officials in 2020 and has been critical of Khan's opposition to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Imran Khan arrest controversy

An arrest warrant was issued against former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan in October 2022 for threatening a female judge. The warrant was issued by a magistrate in the Margalla area of Pakistan. Khan's political ally was also arrested around the same time.

In August 2022, a court in Pakistan barred authorities from arresting former Prime Minister Imran Khan who was facing terrorism charges. In October 2022, an arrest warrant was issued against Khan for allegedly threatening Pakistani officials. Khan had been ousted as Prime Minister in April 2022 after a no-confidence motion.
