Joe Biden Ukraine relations

Joe Biden has a long history of supporting Ukraine, dating back to his time as Vice President. He has spoken with Ukrainian leaders on how to reform their government, pressed President Obama to take decisive action when Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014, and reaffirmed his commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity during a call with President Zelenskyy in June 2022.

He was also welcomed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky upon his election as U.S. president in December 2020.

Joe Biden Ukraine policy

Joe Biden has been a strong supporter of Ukraine, visiting Kyiv in February 2023 to mark the one-year anniversary of Russia's invasion and vowing to defy Moscow's war machine for as long as it takes.

His policy is focused on achieving a democratic, independent, sovereign and prosperous Ukraine with the means to deter and defend itself, which he has sought to accomplish through diplomatic negotiations and economic aid. He has denied any involvement in the Biden-Ukraine conspiracy theory.
